The Retro plastic version of the Explorer is great fun for me because I can turn it into a straight or even flip-up driver with tasty glide in, oh, 2 weeks, maybe less if the weather is warm? The beating in seems to happen on an accelerant and that becomes quite useful if you've recently lost your usual ol' spice and need a replacement real quick.
