Loft Discs Alpha Bohrium
Disc Flight Numbers ExplainedSPEED: 14 | GLIDE: 6 | TURN: -1 | FADE: 3
Bohrium is a maximum distance driver with a slightly overstable flight and incredible speed. This speed is a result of our new design concept: The rounded rim.
The rounded rim driver improves grip for wide rim drivers, and dramatically reduces drag while maintaining lift compared to sharp rim drivers. Therefore, the rounded rim makes the disc fly farther before it loses speed compared to a similar width conventional rim.
But not only that - the round rim naturally fits your fingers' curve around it, making it much more comfortable to grip than other super wide rim drivers.
The speed rating of 14 says more about the rim width of the disc than it does about the flight. So don't be fooled - this is by far the fastest driver there is. Fast, in the context of disc golf, means that the drag force that slows the disc down while flying is low. Bohrium has a significantly lower drag force than any other PDGA-approved golf disc, reducing the deceleration caused by air resistance. This causes the disc to have a pronounced turn as well as a hard fade, sacrificing a bit of control, but allowing improvements on distance off the tee - especially on lower distance lines.
The glide rating is based on the disc's ability to stay aloft on low lines. You won't get a long airtime due to the speed, but the disc will hover swiftly above the ground with its very unique flight.
The stability is overall pretty overstable, depending a lot on your arm speed and the wind. Determining stability for such a fast disc is quite hard due to its sensitivity to arm speed and release.
