The Envy is a slightly overstable putt and approach disc.

James Conrad 2021 World Champion Edition

The Envy has a smooth modern feel that fits in the hand perfectly, lending confidence for both putt and approach duties. The Envy exhibits reliable high-speed stability and a minimal fade. With a slightly lower profile and cruising speed than the Ion and Anode class, the Envy is a uniquely “lid-like” stable putter.

HIGH-TECH BASELINE MATERIAL

  • Tactile boutique blends for superb grip
  • Designed to wear slowly with use
  • Added glide and neutral flight with wear
  • Also available in soft flexibility for putters

Easy distance for an overstable throwing putter; straight and glidey enough for C2 putts.

I have pushed Lunas and AviarX3s out to 350 feet before but needed huge chunks of power and whip to get the length. The Envy is a much different proposition. Slimmer in the hand than either of those discs, the Envy whips out smoothly and strikes out into the distance with much less drama. 300 feet happens almost reflexively. Unlike the Nomad, it is not easy to flip it over, and carves perfect rainbows on high hyzers which glide out slowly as they fade. It is also flat-topped with a chunky rim which helps make forehand approach shots easy to execute. While I would give the edge to a Harp or AviarX3 as better at stabilising against forehand torque, up to 50m I don't think there is much to choose between them. As a putting putter, it works fine provided you are comfortable with a properly overstable finish. Even though the soft electron plastic isn't particularly soft, it provides a good chalky grip for a confident feel when facing the basket. The throw I bag it for is of course the "miracle throw-in" shot, namely the 250-foot baby anhyzer that turns its way up to 25 feet high before flattening out to a laser straight flight at basket height. It takes a bit of seasoning to get the disc to the proper level of wear, but it is absolutely gorgeous when it comes off!
